Reflections As future educators, it is important that we understand and become consciously aware that phonological awareness is an essential aspect of the emergent literacy development. The comprehension of phonological awareness is critical for learning to read any alphabetic writing system. For this assignment, we chose to implement a word awareness, rhyming, and alliteration activity in our typically developing service learning classes. Also, we incorporated phonics throughout these activities. Individual Reflection 1 Children’s Learning The first phonological awareness activity that we implemented in our service learning class was Peg It! This activity was constructed to help children develop word awareness. Word awareness†¦show more content†¦This would make it easier for students to write the first letter of each word. In addition, we would write longer sentences to help children further develop their word awareness. Last but not least, we would have each group present at least one of their sentences to the class. They would read the sentence, demonstrate the number of words by counting the pegs, and say the first letter of each word as well as its corresponding sound. Writing Writing was incorporated into this activity. As previously stated, the students had to write the first letter of each word on the peg. We could further incorporate writing by allowing the students to write their own sentences on the sentence strips. This would increase peer communication and help them practice their spelling as well as letter-sound correspondence. Lastly, we could incorporate writing by instructing each group to write two sentences explaining how they figured out the number of words in each sentence. This activity is important because it helps children create alliterations. After some time, Pangu decided it was time to come out from within and broke the egg open and began to bring order to the world. Thus, in determining appropriate goals for a company is very important and by doing so, company must firstly determine what type of goals employees are called to achieve and then, monitor them from time to time without fail. This will result in better performances especially in terms of productivity.   Goal setting theory seems to play a major role in making things work. However, according to Latham and Saari (1979), setting specific and challenging goals by individuals themselves will result in higher quality performances than by just urging the employees to performing their best. This is because when employees set their own goals in achieving a particular task, the quality of that particular task will be much better than a task which is given by their upper level management team themselves. When employees set their own targets towards their jobs, they feel fully responsible in and out in accomplishing them including providing the best quality of works. In short, employees need to be goal setters themselves in order to perform better. Thus in this case, in conjunction with the companys goals, missions and visions, employees should be given a chance to set their own goals and achieve them in their own ways in line with companys guidelines. He tries to impress upon his readers that an outsider, whether from another physical location, or simply someone who thinks and acts outside that society's definition of acceptable behavior can in fact facilitate positive change within that society. The secret in this novel most likely represents an idea, privacy, or even social censure. The Mary-like character Hester Prynne represents feminism, as the female-heroine, and truth, as she is unwavering in her stand against the wishes of the state, church, family and community with regard to her own truth. As represented by The Scarlet Letter, "Do you not think it is better for your little ones temporal and eternal welfare that she be taken out of your charge and clad soberly and disciplined strictly and instructed in the truths of heaven and earth? What can you do for the child? I can teach my little Pearl what I have learned from this, laying her finger on the red token. Woman it is thy badge of shame. Nevertheless, this badge taught me...it teaches me daily lessons by reasons of which my child may be better and wiser." Prynne is aware of how her truth can set her free. Later in the novel it states "...people brought all their sorrows and perplexities, and besought her counsel." This shows how Prynne's stand for the truth has eventually affected the entire community in a very positive manner, changing its perspective on social norms. Yet the character Dimmesdale, the co-adulterer, was said to be liken with "unutterable torment." Hawthorne was showing that Dimmesdale's silence about the truth and his love was worse than any judgment that would have been bestowed on him by his community or maker. Later Prynee offers to save Dimmesdale from his jail (guilt) and jailer (Chillingworth, the devil-like character). He refuses and eventually dies of shame and guilt at the end of this romantic tale of the love between two people. Pearl, the bastard-daughter character, represents the world of nature (truth), a nature-friendly pre-Christian time in mankind's history and the struggle between the town (societal taboos) and the simpler way of forest (respect for the truth).
